Frequently asked questions
What is an ISIC code and why does it matter in Oman?
The ISIC code classifies your business activity. In Oman it determines which authorities approve you, which licenses you need, whether 100% foreign ownership is allowed and what government fees apply. Choose the code that best matches your real activity before registering.
Which authorities approve a business license in Oman?
Commercial registration is handled by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP). Depending on the activity, additional approvals come from bodies such as MTCIT, municipalities, civil defence or sector regulators. The finder lists the approving authorities for each activity.
